Shelter Cove is a beautiful seaside community that is located along the Lost Coast portion of the Northern California coast. Shelter Cove is located about 200 miles north of San Francisco and 70 miles south of Eureka. This portion of the Northern California coastline is among the most rugged part of California. This area is known as California`s "Lost Coast" because it has no access from Highway 1. You can drive to Shelter Cove by driving off Highway 101 about 25 miles west towards the Northern California coast.
