Cape Mendocino Lighthouse

Gray Whale Watching
We see this spectacular event at Shelter Cove when in the early spring April thru June the whales arrive right off the rocks with there young. Raising and diving in the surf slowly moving north.

Lost Coast Hiking Trail
Lost Coast Trail. Lost Coast Trail-North (Mattole - Black Sands Beach) 24.6 miles, mostly level The Lost Coast Trail offers one of the few coastal wilderness hiking experiences in the United States. Hikers can view sea lions, tidepools and spectacular spring wildflowers.

Tide Pools
Shelter Cove is only three acres of beach access to Elmer Ross Beach, a bluff decorated with a gazebo, and a long stair-case path down to numerous untouched tide pools. Getting to Shelter Cove can be somewhat tricky for non-local residents.

BLM Mountain Bike Trail
The Paradise Royale trail system is an amazing way to experience the Lost Coast of Northern California. The trails have been designed and built for a mountain bike optimized experience. The Bureau of Land Management has been partnering with mountain biking advocates and clubs, to plan, develop, and construct an environmentally sustainable, challenging mountain bike trail system in the Paradise Ridge area of the King Range National Conservation Area. The King Range NCA's Douglas fir-covered peaks also attracts hikers, hunters, and campers, while the coast beckons to surfers, anglers, beachcombers, and many others.

TWELVE beers on tap in the restaurant and FOUR on tap in BeerSTREAM, a converted Airstream trailer in our beer garden. And YES, our seasonal, sustainable sourced menu will having you coming back for more. Everyone one of Chef Robert Mason dishes are created from scratch with an extreme attention to details.
